What:
The AACR Annual Meeting 2013 will bring more than 17,000 scientists, advocates, industry leaders and other professionals to Washington, D.C., for the latest in breakthrough cancer science.
To help reporters and editors plan coverage of the meeting, the online program can be found at www.aacr.org/2013program.
A press kit containing press releases and highlighted abstracts will be available via Newswise and EurekAlert, and to subscribing reporters on April 1.
The official press conferences will begin Saturday, April 6, and will be held throughout the week. New cancer research highlighted in the AACR Annual Meeting 2013 press program includes:
- New data on the effectiveness of lung cancer screening;
- The predictive value of BRCA in breast cancer survival;
- Melanoma survivors' adherence to sun protection recommendations;
- New biomarker tests for tumor diagnosis and prognosis;
- Late-breaking analyses of the Cancer Genome Atlas;
- Novel clinical trials in hard-to-treat cancers;
- Efficacy of combination therapy in unique targets; and
- New data on the potential link between air pollution and cancer in children.
