Could Apple be planning to do with the iPhone 5?what it did recently?with the iPad 3 ??release a "refreshed" version months after the new version came out??
DigiTimes???a sometimes accurate, but often?not?? source of information from Taiwan Monday cites a report from Taiwanese financial newspaper, the Commercial Times, saying that Apple is "expected to begin trial production of a new version of its iPhone 5, or iPhone 5S, in December with initial production volumes likely to top 50,000-100,000 units."
The report could make sense, with?iPhone 5s having been difficult for many to obtain, in part because of production problems, as well as higher-than-expected demand.
Apple sold more than 5 million iPhone 5s the first weekend it went on sale in late?September. We've asked Apple for comment, and will update this post when we hear back.?
